Ideally you should take both, but only fighters, rangers, and college of swords have access to the latter. Dual wielder also allows you to put a wider variety of weapons in the offhand. You can dual wield finesse light weapons and dual wield hand crossbows which make them very good at melee and range while having very good AC. The problem is you kinda want 3 levels of rogue / thief to get a extra bonus action for your offhand.Dual wield would benefit more from hunter's mark too. Everything is viable. Sure. Berserker is anti-synergy with dual wielding, since you can already attack as a bonus action. Barbs favour 2handed weapons much more in general here. And also, with this build i don't be available to take 2 ASI with Savage attacker, only Savage attacker + 1 ASI or 2 ASI without savage attacker.
