When I turn on the headlights, sometimes the interior dash lights flicker/flash on and off, usually ending up in off once they stop. The headlights don't seem to be affected.

The driveshaft always turns but you should be able connect and disconnect power to rear wheels using the 4x4 switch. In any case, if you want to test to see if the back wheels engage when the 4x4 switch is pulled, you could try running it while up on a lift or jack stands. I fixed the problem. I checked the wire harness, it looked fine. I ordered 4 abs sensors replaced them and one wheel bearing. Problem solved. The rear wheel abs sensor setup is bad engineering. Rust will accumulate and trip those sensors.
