Hello! I use a G3100 router for my WiFi service (rented from Fios). The signal is spotty in part of my home, so I'd like to buy a basic signal extender to make the signal stronger. I'm not a fan of Verizon's Extender because it is pricey and large. I'd like to use one of those simple plug-in-the-outlet extenders.The Verizon extender instructions simply stated to plug the Ehternet cable into a yellow port on the extender, so I simply did that with the G3100 which was updated per the interactive guide instructions. Now for something strange. (1) the G3100 converted only allows wifi connections when hardwired into the main router.The next preferred method would be to use coaxial cable. The downside is a slight increase in latency. A WiFi connection is the last option because increasing the distance between the router and the extender lowers the Internet speed realized. There are a few ways to go at this point: Purchase a G3100 router.
