Update, after my initial fiasco of going in store, ordering online, getting an X1 box instead of modem, returning x1, ordering xb8 and getting an XB7, calling 3 times, I went to return the XB7 to my local store and to my surprise, the store had received an unexpected shipment of the XB8.
